Most people who develop mesothelioma have worked in careers such as mining, where they inhaled or ingested asbestos fibers, or were exposed to airborne asbestos dust and fibers in other ways. Washing the clothing of a family member who worked with asbestos also creates a risk for developing mesothelioma. The global (the US, the UK, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Japan) malignant Mesothelioma therapeutics market was valued at $165m in 2015 and is forecast to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 4.1% to reach $218m by 2017.
